A 3.0-magnitude earthquake rattled parts of New Jersey and New York City on Saturday night. The earthquake, which occurred at 10:18 p.m. local time, had its epicenter in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, at a depth of approximately 6.2 miles.

Tremors were felt across northern New Jersey and in various parts of New York City, including Brooklyn and Westchester County. While residents reported feeling a brief but intense jolt, there have been no immediate reports of injuries or significant damage.

New York City's emergency management department confirmed it was monitoring the situation, and residents were advised to be prepared for possible aftershocks, though the small magnitude of the quake makes a significant follow-up tremor unlikely. This recent event was significantly milder than the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Tewksbury, New Jersey, in 2024.
